Regis
L. Magyar, Ph.D. is a certified human factors professional and consultant
specializing in human-computer interaction, Web site usability,
user interface design, and consumer product usability testing.
He has performed ergonomics and human factors consulting for small
businesses and large corporations such as IBM, Fujitsu Networking,
and AT&T. His work experience and projects include network management
applications, graphical user interface design and evaluation, standards
development, Internet and intranet Web site design, and software
and hardware usability testing for consumer products. He is currently
researching, designing, and developing effective efficient, and
highly usable user interfaces for cellular phones and handheld,
mobile wireless devices.
Dr. Magyar received his B.S. degree in Engineering Psychology from
the Georgia Institute of Technology and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees
in Experimental Psychology from the University of Florida. In addition
he received his M.S. degree in Telecommunications from Pace University
in New York. He is a member of the Usability Professionals' Association,
the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the Sigma Xi Scientific
Research Society of North America. He was board certified as a Human
Factors Professional in 1991 from the Board of Certification in
Professional Ergonomics.
